On Monday, I was fortunate enough to be invited to a South African Development Community cocktail function held at South Africa House on Trafalgar Square. If you’re unawares, the Southern African Development Community comprises 13 Southern African countries, representing a population of 203 million people, and in 2003 a GDP of US$169 billion. The purpose of the event was to deliver short presentations on the SADC, upcoming trade agreements, and various investment and trade initiatives that are underway. There were also exhibitions of exports to the British market, which was pretty interesting.

This is all well and good, and illustrates the Proactivity of the SADC to develop its member’s economies, but for me there were two main take home points to consider.

Some pretty intense monologue from Justin Hall. I’m not sure if he’s taking the piss, or is deadly serious - either way, I kinda couldn’t stop watching, to see where it would go…

You can watch a really, really bad parody here.

Let’s sit tight and see what happens…
EDIT:
Looks like (mt) are looking after the hosting… good one Demian and (mt)!

Looks like a project to watch. Has anyone used it yet?

EDIT:

Just spotted another link to it on Sitepoint, at Blane’s blog

I’ve been watching with growing interest how many people are putting Technorati links on their blogs and for a while I didn’t really understand what the fuss was all about….

Those of you who know me know that we have an office in Richmond, London, and a development office in Cape Town - where all the technical stuff is kept.
Anyways - yesterday, there was a pretty big fire that swept down Table Mountain and almost swallowed up our office….
Good thing we have backups, and webcams! […]
