Kunal has released a cool little app that watches an Outlook folder, and basically puts what’s in that folder, into your blog. You can download ver 0.8 of OutlookMT from here.
I had some problems installing, which were easily fixed by pinging Kunal and getitng a quick solution.
Here’s what you need to do:
1. Use your Outlook CD (or your MS Office Install CD), Add/Remove components, Make sure “.NET Programability” is installed for Outlook.
2. Drop the files from the zip file into the Office11 folder.
3. Set up the config file to match your blog.
4. Run the exe - should work fine!
Notes: The BlogId doesn’t work with Wordpress - just posts to the default blog cat.
And that’s it - go forth and post to your blog
On Saturday I opened up the case enclosing my iPAQ 4150 to have a look at some dates ahead in the calendar, and I got a pretty scary surprise.
It didn’t start. At all.
Nothing - nothing with the power button top-middle of the device, neither the reset button on the side of the device, so I panicked a little - I have quite a lot in that little machine, and I also knew that any restoring of data etc would be a long process.
Anyways - even though the PocketPc was in it’s sturdy little aluminium case the whole night, something must have caused it to discharge, and when it discharges completely, you lose everything.
In a way it’s a good thing, as I can now install a ROM update, a WLAN update and can do a fresh install / update of some of the apps I’ve been using for a while now, including:
Developer One Agenda Fusion
SPB Pocket Plus
Skype
Adobe Acrobat Reader for Pocket PC
MSN Messenger
VodaFone Connect Me!
I’m still battling to get the Bluetooth / PDA thing working with my Sony Ericssen K700i and Bluetooth, which is a perhaps blessing in disguise cos if I could get it working, then I’d be using the net connection all the time, and that’s not necessatily a good thing
So, lessons learnt are:
- backup PDA and Outlook regularly, and make sure you backup onto a reliable machine
- don’t put your PDA in a situation where it can be discharged without your knowing
- keep your licenses for the software you install on your PDA handy
- get friendly with your PDA, so that when things do go pear shaped, you know how to get things back up quickly - ie. no 2 hour long support calls

Was looking at Artemis Corp today, as they’re doing some cool stuff with Microsoft Content Management Server RAPID, but I couldn’t nav through their site, so I gave up after about 3 tries… And this was in IE, with Firefox, their layour was all over the place.
This is a good example of how over-elaborate design and UI can actually do damage to how people perceive you, and how they get access to your content. And we all know content is king.

43 Folders GTD Wiki site is up… Got this from the 43 Folders newsfeed
The long-promised 43 Folders Wiki is finally up and running at http://wiki.43folders.com/. W00t.
With the help of a few intrepid barn raisers, we’ve started slapping together the beginnings of what I know will become a fascinating adjunct to the main site and our 1,600-strong Google Group.
It’s yours to contribute to and to edit as you see fit. As with the mothership, though, I do ask everyone’s help in respecting the Mac-centric focus of the site (that means no drive-by Windows spam, please). Apart from that, go nuts. Well, maybe not nuts exactly, but please consider doing what you can to help tend our little information garden.
You can use the discussion area of each page or leave comments here. Thanks to everyone for pitching in, and welcome aboard!

_ Robert Scoble: How I Read 1000 Weblogs a Day
_ All Narfed Up - Robert Scoble on reading 1000 weblogs a day (from: PubSub: Scoble)
I’m not on 1000 feeds a day, but on about 50-100. I also live in Outlook. So this podcast rang true on a lot of levels.
I’ve got my system set up so that I can see when someone has published something new. So should you, if you value getting information when it breaks. If you want to be a part of the global conversation. I also don’t like headline type feeds as I think they’re a waste of time - but I can understand that some people publish information / content that has a business model behind it. So be it, but I can choose not to read it.
Interesting to hear Scoble is a photographer too…
Today was by far the best day this year.
Not too hot, not too cold, not too windy, no big grey clouds, no cold rain, no bad bus drivers
The end of this week (Thursday and Friday) really tee’d up today, and sitting at the tail end of the day with tomorow to look forward, I think it’s going to be a great weekend, definitely one to mark the start of summer.
I don’t know what it is about the weather and how it affects people in London. One day you’re wearing a scarf and trying to keep the cold from inside your suit jacket, and the next you’ve got sweaty bollocks and you’re looking up the very, very small skirt (was more like a belt really) of a slightly overweight woman walking ahead of you up the stairs in the train station. I mean, lets face it - no woman in her right mind would wear something like that in winter, but bring out a little sun, and they all seem to get their kit off.
For example, we (that’s Sarah and I) were walking from Isleworth to Richmond when we walked past this girl, who couldn’t have been more than about 16, wearing this little pink half bikini / half gym thing combo, with massive circular earrings that almost reached her shoulders, walking her two dogs. I think one was a mastiff and the other a terrier. I remember it not because of the skimpy pink outfit (no daughter of mine will ever leave the house looking like that, I promise), nor the earrings, nor the dogs, but because of her snow white belly that had this little gold belly button ring competing for attention with her snow white skin. Summer has indeed arrived.
So what was good about today?
I was made breakfast by my girl - poached eggs with soda bread and potato cakes.
I then slept some more, ’till about 11.
We then just chilled on the couch for a few hours, watching cooking on TV and reading.
I had a bowl of fruit with about 4 fruits in it, which was delicious.
We signed up for the Amazon.co.uk 4 dvd at a time rental offer - chose 3 movies to kick our list off.
Had a walk to Richmond in the sun, along the Thames river - was awesome.
Enjoyed a hot chocolate and massive chocolate chip cookie at Starbucks.
Got to my place, and spent the rest of the day chilling out on the couch.
I don’t often switch off, but today was different - yes, there were a few things floating around in my head, but for the most part, I managed to just be in the moment, enjoying the time with my girl, spending time bonding and enjoying each others company. The flip side is that I slept more than she did today, so while she is sleeping now, I’m digging deeper into wonderful Wordpress, and writing this. But that’s ok.
I’m looking forward to tomorrow ![]()
