If you knew me, or took the time to read the rest of the blog before posting a comment like that, you would know that’s not the case. You’d also see that I haven’t actually made a lot of posts about the G8 summit itself a) ‘cos I’m not an expert and won’t pretend to be; b) ‘cos I’m reading all I can, to educate myself about it. Maybe next time I’ll be better informed and better educated to make serious posts about a serious issue.

When the whole Live 8 thing took off, the idea started to germinate and gather momentum, until one night we worked hard to get a first version out. We didn’t like that too much, so worked some more to get the next one out, and that is what you see. I don’t remember Bob Geldorf announcing the Live 8 years ago, and I don’t remember the Make Poverty History campaign being launched long ago either. Our site was a reaction to existing campaigns, trying to use our skills usefully; and an attempt to make a difference in using those skills.

Next month, I’ll probably get more sleep.
